In 2007, the country’s total automobile production totaled 8.88 million, which was a year-on-year increase of 22%. Last year, the output of commercial vehicles reached 2,501,300 units, a year-on-year increase of 22.21%. This year, the output of commercial vehicles in China is expected to reach 2.7 million vehicles.

Due to the low fuel consumption and strong power of diesel engines, the proportion of diesel fuel in commercial vehicles in China has continuously increased in recent years, and medium and heavy-duty trucks have basically been dieselized. Because diesel fuel consumption is 30% lower than that of gasoline vehicles, the promotion of advanced diesel vehicles will reduce China's dependence on oil imports by 10% in 2020. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop diesel vehicles to save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

In recent years, China has made great progress in engine and vehicle emissions control. In 2005, the State Environmental Protection Administration approved the release of "Exhaust emission limits and measurement methods for vehicle exhaust gas emissions from compression ignition, gas fuel ignition engines and vehicles (China III, IV, V phase)". This year, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and national quality The General Administration of Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has jointly issued the “Limits and Measurement Methods for Exhaust Emission of Heavy-duty Gasoline Engines and Vehicle Exhaust Pollutants (China III, IV Phase)”. It is required that national III emission standards be implemented nationwide from July 1, 2007 and national IV emissions standards be fully implemented from 2011 onwards. Beijing, Shanghai and other places will advance one step. Starting from March 1 this year, Beijing will implement the national IV vehicle emission standards in two phases, and light vehicles with national III and below standards will be prohibited from selling in Beijing. Shanghai is also embarking on preparations to strive to implement the National IV emission standards next year, and the Pearl River Delta region will also strive to implement the National IV emission standards in advance.

To meet the National III emission regulations, it is necessary for diesel engines to achieve flexible adjustment of high-pressure fuel injection and injection timing and fuel injection amount. That is, the emission of State III emission requires that electronic fuel control systems for commercial vehicle diesel engines must be equipped with electronic control systems. Therefore, with the implementation of the National III emission regulations, the demand for electronic control technology for commercial vehicle diesel engines in China will increase rapidly.
