Expanding its business in the Chinese market, Denso Group has announced that it will expand and relocate its technology research and development center in Shanghai, China.
The R&D center after expansion and relocation is expected to be put into operation in June 2013. The new site will be located in Xinzhuang Industrial Park, Minhang District, Shanghai. Denso will invest in this technology R&D center before the end of fiscal year 2014 (as of March 2014). 7.2 billion yen (about 88.5 million U.S. dollars) and doubled the number of employees in the technical center.
Yasushi Yamanaka, executive director of Denso Engineering R&D Center, said: “We hope that through this expansion of our R&D center in China, our services to customers will be further improved, product competitiveness will be further enhanced, and we will develop and design more in China.†The product."
As part of this relocation and expansion work, Denso will add a large set of test equipment to the new R&D center to enhance its capabilities in product design and R&D.
The first production company established by the Denso Group in China is located in Yantai, Shandong, China. With the increasing demand in the Chinese market, Denso continuously increases the number of its subsidiaries in China. Currently, Denso has a total of 22 production companies in China. The production of a range of products includes automotive air conditioning systems, engine control components, fuel injection components and car navigation systems.
