Eliminate outdated mechanical and electrical equipment or enjoy encouragement

It is reported that in order to better achieve energy conservation and emission reduction, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will actively strive to establish special funds to encourage the elimination of outdated mechanical and electrical equipment. At the same time, the third batch of the “Catalogue of Outdated Electromechanical Equipment (Products) with High Energy Consumption” is expected to be released as soon as possible. Industry insiders believe that companies that produce advanced mechanical and electrical equipment are expected to enjoy the benefits.

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on a recent survey that it is necessary to speed up the elimination of backward electromechanical equipment (products), and should be resolutely eliminated from the equipment that is eliminated. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will actively strive to set up special funds to encourage the elimination of backward electromechanical equipment.

In order to speed up the elimination of outdated production capacity and backward high energy-consuming equipment, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released two batches of the “Outdated Catalogue of High Energy-consuming and Backward Mechanical and Electrical Equipment (Products)” in 2009 and 2010. At present, the third batch of the “Catalogue of Elimination of High-Energy Discarding Electromechanical Equipment (Products)” is also in the process of formulation and is expected to be released as soon as possible.

According to the established plans, during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, the comprehensive energy consumption per million yuan of industrial value added by the machinery industry fell from 0.42 tons of standard coal in 2009 to 0.31 tons of standard coal in 2015, an average annual decrease of 5.9%.

Cai Weici, executive vice president of the China Federation of Machinery Industry, had previously proposed that in order to ensure that industries that focus on energy conservation and emission reduction can obtain support from advanced and high-efficiency equipment, relevant departments should regard such equipment as a priority and encourage development. Actively support the mechanical enterprises to carry out technological transformation oriented to energy conservation and emission reduction, and provide support for planning and funding subsidies for major projects with typical significance.
