Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission formally approved the construction of a national engineering laboratory for tire advanced equipment and key materials by Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Software Control Co., Ltd. and Saihua Co., Ltd. The total investment for the project construction is 65.74 million yuan, of which the state has arranged an investment of 15 million yuan. yuan.


The main construction content of the laboratory project is: on the existing basis, the construction of new tire materials, tires advanced equipment design and manufacturing, tire recycling, energy saving and environmental protection technologies, information engineering and other R & D platforms and related experimental test platform. The main tasks of the project construction at this stage are the development of high-efficiency low-temperature primary rubber refining, tire rolling resistance testing, continuous energy-saving tire pyrolysis production, digital tire co-production based on IoT and other key new materials for tires such as high-performance thermoplastic vulcanizates. The research on this aspect will promote the application of relevant major scientific and technological achievements.


This is another major national construction project that Qingdao acquired in the rubber tire industry following the approval of the State Ministry of Science and Technology for the construction of the National Tire Technology and Control Engineering Technology Research Center in 2009. Counting on the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education of Rubber and Plastics, which was built on the basis of Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Qingdao has now become the most comprehensive R&D and application platform for rubber tire industry.
