Imported Fiat 500 will go to GAC Fiat's domestic car channel

The reporter recently learned from Fiat that the upcoming Fiat 500 will be released at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The new car will be basically the same as the US version, with market positioning and price close to that of the MINI. According to reports, after the new car is officially listed in the second half of the year, it will be sold on the GAC Fiat Channel, becoming the second domestic car channel imported car following the new Boyue.

"Entering the Chinese market will surely be the latest version of the model. The latest 500 currently sold in the global market is the US market model." GAC Fiat related high-level revealed. The reporter learned that, as with the US models already listed at the end of last year, the Fiat 500 that enters China at that time will have three models: the popular version, the sports version, and the leisure version, all adopting the 1.4-liter MultiAir engine.

"The specific pricing strategy will follow the convention of two vehicles in the European market, that is, the Fiat 500 is 3,000 euro lower than the MINI." Fiat said the new car will be formally introduced by GAC Fiat. But Siduo, executive vice president of international business at Fiat Group Motors, said that the new car does not currently have a domestic plan, but it will determine the follow-up strategy based on market feedback.
