Recently, the high-density three-dimensional field test of the ES109 domestic large-scale seismograph developed by PetroChina Oriental Geophysical has been successful. This marks a new type of seismic data acquisition and recording system that is completely independently designed and manufactured and has independent intellectual property rights. Through the assessment and testing at the production stage, it fills the gaps of large-scale seismic instruments in China, and part of its technical performance has reached the international advanced level.

Large seismographs are the core equipment for oil exploration. China has always relied on imports. In recent years, international instrument manufacturers have actively developed seismic exploration instrumentation and equipment integration technologies, which have highly combined seismic instruments and related technologies, and have become more and more monopolized. This has brought great constraints to the technological development of China's geophysical exploration industry and participation in international competition.

In order to break the international monopoly and improve the independent research and development capabilities and innovation capabilities of China's petroleum core equipment, China National Petroleum Corporation listed large-scale seismic equipment in April 2006 as a key scientific research project of China's “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”. During the entire project R&D process, Eastern Geophysical Exploration and Development Co., Ltd., which is responsible for this project, has adopted independent research and development as the main method, and introduced some single-technology technologies. It has extensively cooperated with the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University and other 13 universities and research institutes at home and abroad to carry out research. Accelerate the development progress and improve the technical level and quality of products.

After 4 years and 10 months of hard work, Oriental Geophysical finally completed its research and development goals and produced prototypes. Starting on July 25 this year, this instrument has completed the production of nearly 30,000 shots in 2D seismic acquisition in the Junggar Basin, 2D seismic acquisition in the ancient city, and fine 3D seismic acquisition in the Xiquan 1 well area. The instrument is subjected to the test of high temperature, low temperature, special surface and various adverse weather conditions, which fully proves the stability and reliability of the ES109 instrument and can meet the needs of the number of roads and massive 3D seismic data acquisition.
