Valve welding inspection is generally divided into two parts:
1), document review:
â—†WPS, PQR, and welding wage quality WPQ are required.
â—†Whether the WPS provided covers the important materials such as base metal, welding consumables, welding method, groove form, thickness, preheating and post-weld heat treatment required by the order.
â—† According to the ASME ninth volume and NB/T47014 rated WPS, there are corresponding important changes. If the important changes are changed, they must be reassessed.
2), on-site welding inspection
â—† Usually use VT (visual inspection) to check for obvious welding defects, such as cracks, undercuts, welds, poor molding, burn through, splashing, etc.
â—†When the sealing surface is surfacing, it is usually checked by PT for cracks, and the hardness of the sealing surface is also required to be tested;
â—†Check the welding of the valve seat and the valve body, basically as long as the appearance is flat, no undercut, misalignment and welding.
â—†Inspect the structural welding such as extension tube. When the order is required, it is necessary to check the internal quality by RT or UT.
