The IEC organization was initiated in Europe and was founded in 1906 (China joined the IEC in 1957 and is a P member of most of the IEC's technical committees). Some domestic experts believe that IEC standards are more applicable to European countries. Some people even mistakenly believe that IEC standards have pitfalls and represent European interests. They are worried that they will be constrained by Europeans after adoption. In fact, this is a serious misunderstanding of some people, reflecting their lack of understanding of the International Organization for Standardization and exposing their lack of in-depth study of IEC standards. With regard to the formulation of IEC standards, each member country and its expert representatives have the right to speak out about an international standard in the formulation process. All comments or suggestions will be respected and seriously handled by the members of the working group. According to the IEC technical guidelines, in the voting stage, if more than two thirds of the member states vote in favor, they can pass a certain standard. However, it is also recommended that the objections (votes) be handled as much as possible. Basically, most of the IEC standards were passed without objections.
In summary, many of IEC's standards, such as basic standards in various technical fields, determine its prominent scientific attributes from its formation process. There is no national orientation, no national orientation. Therefore, it will soon become an inevitable choice for people. Of course, there are times when you do find that the IEC standard more reflects the needs of Europe and the technical and economic benefits. It seems that IEC standards have been controlled by European countries and have caused certain technical barriers to our exports. This problem is caused by our not actively participating in the formulation of international standards - international market rules. It is because we are not proactive. The depth of Chinese companies’ participation in international rules is not enough, and the acquisition of technical and economic interests in international markets is difficult to achieve. Of course, it is also possible that Chinese companies do not enter the real international market, so they may not realize the benefits that may be brought about by participating in rulemaking. In fact, language is not a major obstacle.
Although the technical capability of China's electrical instrumentation industry is very strong, the ability to lead the development of international standards is also limited by the systematic understanding of standardization principles and the lack of mastery of methods. There are very few talented people who understand technology, understand products, and understand standards.
The electrical instrumentation industry has its own particularities. Most manufacturers pay more attention to the domestic market and do not really participate in international trade activities. It strives to understand and excavate the contribution made by participating in standardization activities at all levels to enhance the technological advancement, innovation ability and competitiveness of the company, and in particular to the development of the corporate market development strategy. European standardization experts have already begun special studies on the contribution of standardization work to the development of the national economy; there are also qualitative evaluation methods and quantitative calculation models for the interests of enterprises participating in standardization activities at all levels.
