Tire industry "Twelve Five" development framework to determine

Wu Guizhong, head of the tire expert group of the Technical Economic Committee of the China Rubber Industry Association, who participated in the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” development plan for the tire industry, disclosed at the 16th China Tire Technology Symposium held in Suzhou, China in the 16th China Tyre Technology Seminar. The framework of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" for the industry that has attracted much attention from the industry has been defined, and it can be summed up in 16 words, transforming the way, adjusting the structure, independent innovation, and coordinated development.

During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China's tire industry has made considerable progress. However, compared with the international advanced level, the gap between enterprise size and industrial concentration is still relatively large. There is also a gap between R&D and production technology capabilities and levels. The level of laws and regulations and technical standards still needs to be improved.

In response to the current problems in the industry, Wu Guizhong said that the “Twelfth Five-Year” development plan outlines special emphasis on increasing industrial concentration, new product development, and energy conservation and emission reduction. Experts proposed six development goals for transforming development methods, product development, industry access, independent innovation, energy conservation and emission reduction, and industry self-regulation. Tire product development goals include a radialization rate from 80% to 85%, a radial-free radial tire rate of 100%, and a radial tire-free tire rate of 60%; industry access and industrial concentration targets include new passenger launches. No less than 6 million tires/year, no more than 1.2 million new radial tires per year, banned construction of skewed tire production lines, etc.; comprehensive energy consumption in energy saving and emission reduction targets shall not exceed 950 kg standard coal/ton of rubber. At the same time, the outline of the key issues for independent innovation was proposed in the Plan, involving the strengthening of flattened, large wheeled, high-speed passenger cars with high-performance radial tires, increasing the promotion of China's independent intellectual property safety and energy saving tires, and improving the technical level and technology of giant radial tires. Development of equipment and other products; research and development to meet the REACH regulations and other tire-related detection technology and application technology, rolling resistance, wet skid resistance, noise and wear reliable detection technology and means, joint establishment of high-level tires dedicated test field.

According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s auto industry will still be in a stage of rapid development. It is expected that in 2015, the total automobile output will reach 25 million vehicles. Some experts said that the auto industry will continue to drive the continuous growth of tire production and sales.
